Oocyte Freezing

Oocyte freezing freepik
Oocyte freezing, also known as egg freezing, is a fertility preservation technique where a woman’s eggs are collected, frozen, and stored for future use. It is commonly chosen by women who want to delay pregnancy due to career plans, medical treatments, or personal reasons. The eggs are frozen using advanced technology to maintain their quality until they are needed for pregnancy through IVF.

Benefits of Oocyte Freezing

Oocyte freezing allows women to preserve their fertility at a younger age when egg quality is higher. It provides flexibility and peace of mind for future family planning. This option is also helpful for women undergoing treatments like chemotherapy that may affect fertility. It increases the chances of successful pregnancy later in life.

Process Of Oocyte freezing

Oocyte freezing (egg freezing) is a fertility preservation process in which a woman’s eggs are collected, frozen, and stored for future use. The process begins with ovarian stimulation using fertility medications to mature multiple eggs, followed by ultrasound-guided egg retrieval under mild sedation. The collected mature eggs are then rapidly frozen using a technique called vitrification and safely stored in liquid nitrogen. When the woman is ready to conceive, the frozen eggs can be thawed, fertilized through IVF, and transferred to the uterus, a service commonly offered at EVA IVF.

Ovarian Stimulation

Hormone injections are given for 8–12 days to stimulate egg production.
