Semen Freezing

At Eva IVF, semen freezing (sperm cryopreservation) allows men to safely preserve their fertility for future use. This procedure is recommended for individuals who wish to delay parenthood or are undergoing medical treatments that may affect sperm quality or production.

The process involves collecting and carefully analyzing a semen sample before freezing it at ultra-low temperatures using advanced cryopreservation techniques. The frozen sperm can be stored securely for long periods and used later for fertility treatments such as IVF or ICSI or IUI.

Consultation & Collection

The process begins with a consultation with a fertility specialist. During this session, your medical history and fertility goals are discussed. Semen is then collected in a private clinic setting, usually through masturbation.

Step 01

Semen Testing

Once the sample is collected, it undergoes thorough testing. This includes checking sperm count, motility (movement), morphology (shape), and overall quality. This ensures that the sperm is suitable for freezing and future fertility treatments.

Step 02

Freezing:

The semen is carefully prepared by adding a cryoprotectant solution, which protects the sperm cells during freezing. The sample is then gradually cooled and stored in liquid nitrogen at extremely low temperatures (-196°C), preserving its viability for years.
